Hazelnut-sized hail effective in Kars caused extensive damage to agricultural lands. The torrential rain, which started at noon in many areas, particularly in Kars' Akyaka district and Karahan village, soon gave way to severe hailstorm. While the cultivated crops were literally mowed down by the hazelnut-sized hail, fields were devastated, and material damage occurred to some vehicles. Following the precipitation, many parts of the district turned completely white, bringing daily life to a standstill.
