Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Yumaklı Holds Meetings in Kars: Turkey Ranks First in Europe in Agricultural Revenue

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı visited the Governorship, the Municipality, and the provincial headquarters of the AK Party and MHP in Kars, before meeting with representatives of non-governmental organizations at the 24th Regional Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ). After receiving a briefing on local projects from Governor Ziya Polat, Minister Yumaklı made key statements regarding Turkey’s agricultural capacity and livestock sector. Citing World Bank data, Yumaklı noted that Turkey ranks 33rd globally in total agricultural land size and 14th in arable land; however, it achieves outstanding success by ranking first in Europe and seventh in the world in terms of agricultural revenue, adding that current livestock policies are yielding positive results in the field.
