The price of bread, one of the most essential staple foods for citizens, has increased in Kars. The price of 200 grams of bread, which was previously sold for 12 TL in the city, has risen to 15 TL under the new price tariff. It has been reported that the new pricing came into effect in bakeries starting today.
While the rising costs of flour, yeast, energy, and labor are stated to be the primary drivers behind the price hike, the decision has met with mixed reactions from citizens. Following successive cost increases in recent periods, updating bread prices became inevitable in Kars, as has been the case in many other provinces. With the new tariff, bread has seen a 25% increase, rising from 12 TL to 15 TL.
